Biography

Hi, I’m Kunal Borade — a software engineer who builds data-intensive backend systems that stay fast and reliable at scale. I’ve just completed my MSc in Advanced Computer Science at the University of Leicester, and I’m now looking for my next role in data engineering, backend engineering, or AI/ML engineering.

I bring 1.5 years of industry experience at aioneers GmbH, where I worked as a Software Engineer — Python, ML & Data Systems. My work focused on designing and developing data-intensive backend systems: building robust data pipelines to connect large enterprise data sources, implementing ETL and data-foundation services with FastAPI, Databricks, Airflow, and Spark, creating a rules engine that turned operational data into actionable insights, and developing an Insights server powering dashboard analytics.

I work day to day with Python, FastAPI, Django, SQL, Spark, Airflow, Databricks, and Delta Lake, and I’ve shipped AI-driven features in production — including an internal Copilot service built on LLM APIs. I’ve also authored two published research papers, on cybersecurity analytics and on higher-education prediction using data mining.

I enjoy the problems that sit where scale, correctness, and product value meet: designing backend architectures, taming messy data, and making systems that other engineers can trust. If you're hiring, I'd love to hear from you.

  • Contributed to the development of the company's flagship products by building robust data pipelines to connect with user data sources.
  • Implemented a Data-Foundation service to connect with user data sources using Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) techniques, and applied advanced data cleaning to ensure data integrity and quality.
  • Developed a rules-engine service to process and apply rules to data from the Data-Foundation service, transforming it into impactful insights represented as impact dots.
  • Created an Insights server for visualizing user data from the Data-Foundation service and presenting it in dashboards in the form of charts.
  • Integrated Delta Lake and Azure Databricks to process millions of records, improving processing speed and scalability.
  • Implemented a Copilot service across these products, using OpenAI LLM APIs for backend responses.
  • Managed production pipelines and provided client support for production issues, ensuring stability and reliability for client-specific data operations.

It evaluates their strengths, limitations, and research gaps, providing insights for developing more effective cyber-attack prediction models.

Higher Education Prediction Using Data Mining
